Your first Sunday, minus the guesswork.
Walking into a new church is its own small act of courage. Here’s everything you need so the only thing you have to figure out is whether you’ll come back.
The basics
Everything logistical, in one row.
Sundays · 11 AM
Doors and coffee open at 10:30; kids check-in starts at 10:45.
105 Sadie St
San Antonio, TX 78210 — in the heart of Southtown.
Newborn–11
Check-in at the Arsenal Kids area at the back door from 10:45 — secure, background-checked, genuinely fun.
Free & nearby
We have spots on the side and behind the building (no paid parking.) Also there’s free street parking around the block.
Whatever you’ve got on
Jeans, sneakers, shorts, boots, Sunday best — no one’s checking.

What a Sunday actually looks like
You’ll get a real welcome at the door — not a swarm, just someone glad you came. There’s coffee. The room is warm and the lights aren’t blinding. We sing for a bit, someone teaches for a bit, and you’re free to sing along or just take it in.
It runs about 75 minutes. Come late, leave early, sit in the back, ask anything. No one’s keeping score.
You won’t be put on the spot. We won’t make you stand up, wear a name tag that announces you’re new, or fill out a card to get out the door. If you want to connect, we’ll make it easy. If you’d rather just watch from the back row this week, that’s a completely good plan too.
What to expect, step by step
The whole morning, demystified.
Park & walk in
You can park in our lot or use street parking around the block. Head for the front doors on Sadie St — someone will spot you and say hi.
Coffee first
Grab a mug, find a seat anywhere. If you’ve got kids, check-in is in the Arsenal Kids area at the back door starting at 10:45.
The gathering
Music, a talk worth wrestling with, and about 75 minutes total. Participate as much or as little as you like.
After
Stick around for a conversation, or slip out the moment it ends. Both are completely normal here.

The Honest Answers
The questions people actually bring to a first Sunday.
Why 11-ish?
Because the first stretch of the morning is coffee and catching up, and we’re not going to cut that short. We start when the room’s ready. It’s on purpose.
Where do I actually park?
Right on our property — and don’t sweat the “pay for parking” signs, those aren’t for church parking. Street parking in Lavaca works too; just give the street signs a quick read.
What’s the deal with kids?
Honestly? The most fun room in the building. Newborn through 11, secure check-in from 10:45, a background-checked team that actually loves this. Your kids will drag you back next week.
What do people wear?
Jeans, tees, dresses, shorts, hats, boots, sneakers — Crocs, genuinely. If you’re comfortable, you’re dressed right.
How long does it run?
About 75 minutes. Come late, leave early, sit in the back, ask anything. Nobody puts you on the spot, and nobody’s keeping score.
“I’m not really a church person.”
Perfect — plenty of us weren’t either. Bring every question you’ve got. You don’t have to have it figured out to belong here.
“I’m not sure what I believe right now.”
Good — you’ll fit right in. Plenty of us are somewhere in the middle, and we think that’s a fine place to stand.
“I had a bad experience with church.”
We’re sorry. A lot of people here know that feeling. We’re not trying to recreate whatever hurt you.
“Do I have to join anything?”
No. Come as often or as little as you like. Belonging here doesn’t come with fine print.
One thing we need you to hear before you ever walk in: when we say you are loved here, we mean all of you. This isn’t a room where the welcome comes with a bait and switch — where “come as you are” quietly turns into “become like us.” All of you is included, and the welcome doesn’t come with an asterisk. Bring the whole you; that’s the one we’re glad to see.
Meet Chad
Chad Belew leads The Arsenal and teaches most Sundays — a pastor more interested in awe than in being right, whose teaching sits where psychology, theology, and ordinary life meet. If you’ve got questions you were told to stop asking, you’ll like him.
