What We Believe

Faith strong enough to be questioned.

We lead with a posture before a paragraph of doctrine. Faith, for us, is less about getting every answer right and more about trusting Christ and learning to love well.

Where we stand

We hold the center with conviction, and the edges with open hands.

01

The center

The historic heart of the Christian faith — God as loving Father, Son, and Spirit; Jesus at the center; grace as the ground we stand on, not a reward we earn.

02

The Book

We read the Bible seriously and honestly — including the parts that are hard — as a living library that points us toward love, not a rulebook to win arguments with.

03

The posture

Certainty isn’t the goal; awe is. We hold the center firmly and the edges with open hands, and we leave room to wonder.

04

The welcome

You don’t have to have it sorted to belong here. Belonging doesn’t have anything to do with believing.

Faith strong enough to be questioned is faith worth keeping.

How we hold it

The questions people actually ask — answered straight.

Do I have to believe all the right things to belong?

No. Belonging doesn’t have anything to do with believing. You don’t have to sort out your theology, your past, or your doubts to be one of us. Most of us are still working it out anyway.

What’s your statement of faith?

We’d rather show you who we are than hand you a wall of doctrine. We affirm the historic core of the Christian faith — God as loving Father, Son, and Spirit; Jesus at the center; grace as the ground we stand on. Beyond that center, we leave room to wonder, question, and grow.

How do you read the Bible?

Seriously — which, for us, means not flatly or fearfully. We read it as a living, honest, sometimes-difficult library that points us toward love, not a rulebook to win arguments with. We’d rather wrestle with it than pretend it’s simpler than it is.

What if I have doubts?

Then you’re in exactly the right place. Doubt isn’t the opposite of faith here — it’s often the beginning of it. Bring the hard questions. We won’t flinch.

Who is actually welcome?

Everyone — no fine print. We’ve worked hard to make sure “welcome” isn’t a word that runs out of room once you’re inside the door.

Where do you stand on LGBTQ+ inclusion?

Full inclusion. LGBTQ+ people belong at The Arsenal — in the room, at the
table, serving, leading, loved and known. Welcome here doesn’t come with an asterisk. If
church has ever made you feel like you had to choose between being yourself and belonging to God, we’re sorry — you don’t. Not here.

Can women lead?

Yes — fully, and without an asterisk. We don’t limit how someone serves or leads based on gender.

The best way to know what we believe isn’t to read it — it’s to be in the room. Come with your questions; we’ll keep the welcome wide.

Bring your questions. We won’t flinch.
